Local Biodiversity Action Plans (LBAPs)
The UK BAP is delivered at a local scale through nine regional partnerships. Within each region, statutory agencies, conservation organisations and local businesses, pool their capacity and resources to deliver priority actions. In the SW region there are 25 LBAP partnerships (collectively known as Biodiversity South West), each with associated LBAP targets. In addition to delivering specific biodiversity targets, LBAPs also seek to enhance the ‘wellbeing’ aims within Local Strategic Partnerships, raise public awareness of biodiversity issues, influence local policy, and communicate ‘best practice’.
