Impact of land use transformations and associated management regimes on soil and other ecosystem components; adaptations to climate change; environmental monitoring schemes; soil survey and land evaluation.
Prof Paul Davies		Integrated cropping systems; development of agricultural enterprises; improvement of organic cereal production.
Dr John Conway		Soil survey, mapping and evaluation; preserving soil diversity; sustainable management of soil resources; researching the reduction of environmental impact of  farming; reducing GHG emissions from agriculture and adaptation to climate change impacts on agriculture and land management.  Member of the limestone pavement HAP group.
Dr Will Manley		Agri-ecosystems, biodiversity, countryside policy and rural recreational activities with particular emphasis on the integration of these areas with commercial agriculture, forestry and rural development.
Dr David Lewis		Woodland management; forestry policy and economics; rural asset management; renewable energy (biomass for heat energy).
